The music agency revealed further details about the survival battle program to broadcast in April, which will see 16 competitors fight for the seven allotted places in the new band.

The lineup, which includes four Japanese and one Chinese aspiring idols, consists of seven candidates and nine trainees. The newly formed girl group will be the industry giant’s first since 15&’s debut in 2012.

JYP Entertainment previously selected members for successful boy band 2PM through SBS rigorous tournament program “SuperStar Survival” in 2008.

Rival agency YG Entertainment also formed rookie boy groups WINNER and iKon through Mnet’s previous talent competition “Mix & Match.”
