Olive Young, Korea’s largest health and beauty store chain, plans to attract Chinese shoppers during China’s major New Year holidays from Feb. 18 to 24. The number of Chinese visitors to South Korea during the period is expected to rise 30 percent from the previous year to 126,000, according to government data.

The popular beauty supply store said it planned to target Chinese shoppers coming to Korea with diverse promotions and discounts. The firm will give out Mise en Scene hair serum to customers purchasing 100,000 won ($90) worth of products. It will also give a discount on Chinese shoppers’ most sought-after products such as Mediheal’s mask pack, Guerisson’s horse oil cream and Cloud9 whitening products.

“More and more Chinese visitors are now seeking hair products apart from skin care products such as mask packs, whitening and moisturizer. We are set to have diverse promotional activities featuring K-pop star Kim Woo-bin together with discounted beauty products,” said Olive Young’s marketing manager.
