Jaejoong, a member of K-pop trio JYJ, was met with a warm welcome from Japanese fans at Tokyo Haneda airport on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old singer-actor departed for Tokyo on Tuesday for a fan event to be held in Yokohama.

Some 500 Japanese fans and local news outlets across the country gathered at the airport to greet Jaejoong with a cheer, his label C-Jes Entertainment said.

Dozens of security guards and airport staff were dispatched to keep the situation under control.

The fan meeting “2015 Kim Jae Joong J-Party in Yokohama” will be held at the Yokohama Arena at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
