K-pop boy band TVXQ topped the Japanese Oricon chart on Thursday with their new album despite not making a TV appearance or promotional activities.

According to the Japanese music ranking chart, TVXQ’s eighth studio album “WITH” grabbed the No.1 spot on the Oricon Daily Albums chart, selling 162,790 copies on the day of its release.

The duo released the album “WITH” in Japan, composed of 14 tracks including the title song “Spinning.”

The achievement comes although they did not appear in any Japanese TV music programs or talk shows to promote their album.

Their label mate Super Junior, the 13-member idol group, also topped the Oricon Daily Singles chart with their album “MAMACITA-AYAYA,” released the same day.

TVXQ and Super Junior will hold a live concert in Beijing, China, on Friday and Fukuoka, Japan, on Saturday, respectively.
