The audition will begin in Seoul on Jan. 9. and the agency will visit 28 cities in nine countries for the audition -- South Korea, Russia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, China, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and Canada -- for about five months.

Many non-Korean artists have already made their debut and are active under the SM banner, including Super Junior-M’s Henry, f(x)’s Amber, Red Velvet’s Joy and Wendy.

S.M. Global Audition, which drew more than 80,000 participants in 2014, is expected to draw more this year since it seeks a bigger event by visiting more cities.

The audition will accept applicants in five categories -- singing, dancing, acting, modelling and composing -- regardless of age, sex and nationality. Successful candidates will get a chance to sign an exclusive contract with SM.

More details are available on SMTOWN’s official home page.
