Apink ranked No. 1 on local charts

K-pop girl group Apink remained in the No. 1 position for three days straight with its latest track on Monday.

Apink’s “LUV,” off its fifth EP, “Pink LUV,” had topped all five major real-time music charts in Korea -- Melon, Mnet, Bugs Music, Monkey 3 and Genie -- as of Monday afternoon.

“LUV” has competed for the top spot against veteran singers Park Hyo-shin, Toy and Super Junior’s Kyuhyun since its release on Nov. 24.

The track is about the pains of first love.

Following its 2011 debut, Apink -- Park Cho-rong, Yoon Bo-mi,Jung Eun-ji, Son Na-eun, Kim Nam-joo and Oh Ha-young -- gained popularity with cheerful tunes such as “MyMy,” “NoNoNo” and “Mr. Chu.”
