South Korean rapper Psy will release a new album next year, delaying his initial plan to unveil it this year, his label YG Entertainment stated Monday.

The “Gangnam Style” star decided to postpone the release to make it perfect, the agency said.

After Psy was sighted filming for a music video in Korea, K-pop insiders initially speculated that he would make a return to the music scene sometime in August.

But YG Entertainment made it clear that Psy’s new album will not be available this year.

He is currently working on his new album while the exact date for his comeback or the new album’s lead track have yet to be decided.

“Psy will continue to work on the album until he makes the song he likes,” said a representative from YG Entertainment.

The world-famous rapper recently finished recording one of the upcoming tracks “Daddy” and shooting for its music video, according to news reports.

Cho Soo-hyun, who produced the highly successful music videos for viral hits “Gangnam Style” and “Gentleman,” directed the much-anticipated music video. The shooting for the music video took place around major cities in Korea in August.

Psy recently released “Hangover” in June. Its music video surpassed 100 million-mark views on July 17, just a month after its release.
