Kim Woo-bin’s new movie gains worldwide attention

The upcoming film “Criminal Designer” starring rising Hallyu star Kim Woo-bin has been pre-sold to distributors from four foreign countries, according to local reports Friday.

The highlight video clip of the movie was revealed during the Asian Film Market 2014 held on the sidelines of the 19th Busan International Film Festival. After watching the video clip, distributors from many countries including China, Philippines, Taiwan and Hong Kong confirmed their interest to buy the rights, the reports said.

“Due to Kim’s popularity in the SBS drama ‘The Heirs,’ the movie ‘Criminal Designer' is gaining exceptional interest in the Chinese regions,” a spokesperson in charge of the overseas distribution of the movie said.

The South Korean film is likely to receive additional pre-sale offers at American Film Market (AFM), which is to be held in November.

The release date for the movie, “Criminal Designer” has not yet been decided.
