KBS 2TV’s drama series “Descendants of the Sun” is rising in popularity here -- and so is its original soundtrack, “You Are My Everything,” which topped local charts on Thursday.

Korean singer Gummy is behind the song. As of 9 a.m. on Thursday, “You Are My Everything,” which was released on Wednesday at midnight, was ranked No.1 in seven of eight local music charts. They were Genie, Naver Music, Mnet.com, Soribada, Bugs and Monkey 3, and Olleh Music.

The song did not rank first on the music chart MelOn, in which the top spot went instead to the original soundtrack of the drama series, “This Love,” by Korean female duo Davichi.

Gummy’s “You Are My Everything” is the fourth original soundtrack of “Descendants of the Sun,” following “Always” by hip-hop musician Yoon Mi-rae, “Everytime” by EXO’s Chen and rapper Punch, and “This Love” by Davichi.

The TV series, which costars actor Song Joong-ki and actress Song Hye-kyo, airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10 p.m.
