The 2018 Mnet Asian Music Awards have officially begun, having premiered in Seoul on Monday, with the second leg of the three-part event to take place in Japan on Wednesday.

Dubbed “2018 MAMA Fans’ Choice in Japan,” Wednesday’s ceremony will unveil the top 10 artists by vote for worldwide icon of the year through an online poll that ran from Nov. 1 through Sunday simultaneously via Twitter and on Mnet’s website.

In addition to the monthlong preshow voting, real-time voting is to take place concurrently with the ceremony in Japan. The result of the preshow poll for top 10 worldwide icons of the year will be revealed at the ceremony’s kickoff at 7 p.m. Real-time votes are collected through Twitter with #MAMAVote and the artist’s name.

Another real-time Twitter hashtag poll is taking place for the red carpet event in Hong Kong on Friday, which will take place from 5 to 6 p.m. before the ceremony’s official start at 7 p.m. Fans can voice their choice for best red carpet style on Twitter with #MAMARedCarpet.

The red carpet events for both the Wednesday and Friday ceremonies will be broadcast live on MAMA’s official Twitter account at twitter.com/MnetMAMA.

The Mnet Asian Music Awards are organized by entertainment television network Mnet, which is owned by CJ ENM. This year marks the annual popular music award’s 10th anniversary.
