Stray Kids’ Bang Chan gets choked up while thanking fans

Stray Kids member Bang Chan shed tears during a V Live broadcast that aired late Monday night after the nine-piece act received a rookie award at this year’s Mnet Asian Music Awards.

“We’ve been chosen as the best new artist at the MAMA!” a cheerful Stray Kids shouted at the start of the livestream. Each member then took turns to express their gratitude to fans, and when it was his turn, Bang Chan got emotional.

“We have released four records this year,” he said, trying to hold back tears. “It was not easy. It was possible only because of you,” he said. “Thank you.”

Formed through JYP Entertainment’s 2017 reality audition show of the same name, Stray Kids released their pre-debut EP “Mixtape” in January, and made their official debut with “I Am Not” in March, which was followed by “I Am Who” in August and “I Am You” in October.

Wearing an unbuttoned shirt with black jeans, he greeted fans by raising both hands before starting to dance.

While choosing the next song to dance to, he said “Hello, everyone. What are you doing now?”

The video lasted 11 minutes or three songs.

“I must go now. It was too short, right? Please look forward to our year-end performances. We’re working hard,” he said at the end of the broadcast.

In a clip uploaded to FENT Entertainment’s official V Live channel, the three members aired their first live broadcast over a cup of milkshake, a fitting prop to promote their debut single titled “Milkshake.”

“I have been watching my favorite K-pop idols on V app. I am so excited to be doing V myself” Kim Doah said.
