The international rom-com flick “My New Sassy Girl” is getting a lukewarm reception in Korea.

The sequel of “My Sassy Girl” (2001) drew 5,168 moviegoers in 386 screens on Monday, according to the Korea Film Council on Tuesday.

The number of viewers has gradually declined since its release. On Thursday it drew 15,192 filmgoers, with the number dropping to 14,150, 13,417 and 11,022 the next three days, respectively. The number plummeted to half of it Monday.

Its competitors, mystery movie “The Wailing” and American action film “Captain America: Civil War,” attracted 291,488 viewers and 46,777 viewers on the same day, respectively.

The movie starring actor Cha Tae-hyun and f(x) member Victoria has managed to attract only around 61,000 viewers over five days.

Local reports doubt whether the number of viewers in Korea can reach 100,000.
