[V Report] BTS, EXO, GOT7, SHINee and more

Wednesday at the V app was all about 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards, better known as MAMA. The app showed K-pop singers who attended the star-studded event in Hong Kong live ahead of and during the awards ceremony.

At 12 p.m., the stars appeared in front of reporters and cameras for the press conference, titled “2015 MAMA Artist Welcome Meeting,” to give a heads up about their performances during the ceremony, building up anticipation among fans.

BTS was the first in line. The seven members talked about how happy they were in Hong Kong and offered a clue about their performance at MAMA.

“When we were here last time, we left with such a good experience,” said Jin. “Also this time, we are very happy to be welcomed by so many people at this beautiful place.”

“We released our EP two days ago and the first comeback stage will be at MAMA,” said Rap Monster.

At MAMA, BTS performed “Run,” the lead track of their new EP, and took home the World Performer Award.

Next were the seven members of GOT7. Hong Kong-native Jackson was especially excited to be back in his hometown.

“It’s been awhile since I came to Hong Kong,” said Jackson. “It’s an honor to be attending MAMA this year and we prepared a special stage, which is secret.” Later during the evening, GOT7 also briefly popped up on the app, right before their performance at MAMA to say hi to the fans.

Suho and Chen came up on the stage on behalf of EXO. “We came to MAMA in 2012 and participated every year since our debut,” said Suho. “It’s an honor to be on the stage with great singers and also artists from abroad. It’s also an exciting music festival.”

“If we receive an award this year, it will become a stepping stone for our growth,” said Chen. “And if we receive, we will try hard to become artists that qualify for the award.”

EXO won top honors at the ceremony, including Best Album of the Year and three other awards: Best Style, the Global Fans’ Choice Award and Best Male Group.

Key and Minho of SHINEE showed up and asked the viewers to keep an eye out for the high-tech stage props they would be using during their performance.

Rookie group Sixteen, which is at MAMA for the first time, was very excited and shared that it had a good time traveling around in Hong Kong.

At 6 p.m., the V app also tuned in from the Red carpet ceremony to spot the stars in their stunning award outfits.

During the actual award ceremony at 8 p.m., the V app took viewers backstage to offer some snapshots of the event.

Also Wednesday, singer-actor Rain went live for a minute to celebrate the launch of his channel on the app. He showed the viewers around the office of his own entertainment agency, Rain Company, and told fans to look out for his upcoming broadcasts.

Singers from the Starship Entertainment -- Donghyun and Jeongmin of Boyfriend, Brother Su, Yoo Seung-woo and Dasom of Sistar -- went live to talk about their special winter project single “Softly,” which was released Wednesday.

“24 singers from the agency participated,” said Jeongmin. “It was not easy to put together all the different voices, but it sounds great.”

EXID broadcast from its practice room at 8:30 p.m. The members thanked the fans and the staff members for giving them their No. 1 ranking on the music program “Show Champion” for their new single “Hot Pink.”

Beauty blogger Bambi Girl went live to compare 12 different kinds of foundation, where she tested color, coverage and durability. Another blogger, cookie, showed how to apply retro makeup, inspired by popular drama “Reply 1988.”

Also on Wednesday, singer Younha, Roy Kim and girl group Mamamoo went live on the app to meet their fans.
