K-pop boy group EXO topped Japanese Oricon chart with the new single “Love Me Right -- Romantic Universe.”

According to Wednesday’s tally by Oricon, EXO’s newest single recorded sales of 61,649 copies on the first day of launch and came in first in the daily rankings.

“Love Me Right -- Romantic Universe” is a spinoff of “Love Me Right,” a repackaged edition of EXO’s second regular EP “EXODUS.” The group had made headlines with bullish weeklong chart dominance when the repackaged album came out in June. The combined sales of “EXODUS” and “Love Me Right” had established EXO’s second million-selling record after 2013’s “XOXO,” and crowned it the K-pop male act with most album sales.
