Trailer of 'The Producers' released

The upcoming TV drama series "The Producers," starring actor Kim Soo-hyun, has released its first trailer.

Kim stars as a new recruit Baek Seung-chan, who dreams of becoming a TV program producer but faces many hurdles.

His character is harassed by a TV music show producer played by actress Gong Hyo-jin, who says in the trailer, "You know that newbie? Kill him."

Cha Tae-hyun reprises his popular comedic image as a staff member in the entertainment industry, while K-pop singer IU stars as a successful and feisty singer.

The series is actor Kim's first acting role since the hit drama series "My Love from the Star" last year.

"The Producers" is part of an ongoing trend in Korea of journalism-based TV dramas, which previously included "Pinocchio" and "Healer." The series starts airing on Friday at 9:15 p.m.
