The popular K-pop boy band EXO's second full-length album, "Exodus," hit online music services and street record stores in South Korea and China on Monday, its management said.

The official release came two days after the album's title piece, "Call Me Baby," was pre-released and swept nine local online music charts, S.M. Entertainment said.

"Exodus" is the first album by the group since it released an EP album, "Overdose," in May 2014.

Debuting in 2012, EXO rose to fame in South Korea and China after its first full-length album titled "XOXO (Kisses & Hugs)" was released a year later. Its repackaged version sold more than 1 million copies in 2013, making EXO the first group to go platinum in 12 years in the South Korean pop music industry.

"Thinking of the memory of exceeding 1 million copies, we're still overwhelmed with joy and proud. We expect that if we keep communicating with our fans and working pleasantly, we'll be able to break a new record with the new album," the boy band said during a news conference to promote the album.

The new album contains 10 songs of various genres, including dance, R&B and ballads. World-renowned producers such as The Underdogs, Teddy Riley, Stereotypes and Kenzie took part in the album's production. (Yonhap)
