"Pinocchio" actors Park Shin-hye and Lee Jong-suk first met two and a half years before they were paired as an on-screen couple on a fashion shoot for Korean casual clothing brand Jambangee.

"We first met for a promotional shoot of a fashion brand in 2013," said Park in a joint interview with Lee, according to magazine InStyle Korea magazine.

"I remember Shin-hye pulled cool poses (for the photo shoot)," said Lee.

Though unnamed in the interview for InStyle Korea's current issue, the fashion company was Jambangee, for which both actors shot a spring-summer campaign, which launched in February 2013.

Lee had already been modeling for Jambangee, which retails denims jeans and other clothes for young adults, for the past year, whereas Park was a new face for the brand.

The actors returned six months later for a subsequent autumn campaign for Jambangee, during which they took part in a televised interview for MBC weekly entertainment news program "Section TV."

During the interview, Lee compared himself with close friend Kim Woo-bin, with whom he starred in 2013 drama series "School 2013."

Responding to comments made by Kim that he had broader shoulders and was taller than Lee, Lee laughed, saying, "I'm not too bad myself. Kim Woo-bin has broader shoulders than me, but my face is that much smaller."

Lee said in fashion magazine InStyle's April issue, reflecting on the 2013 interview, "I find it difficult to do video interviews, but I felt secure with Shin-hye by my side."

"I noticed Jong-suk is surprisingly shy and withdrawn. But he's also very sweet," said Park to InStyle.

Lee and Park, who did not renew their contract with Jambangee after autumn 2013, were reunited a year later as an on-screen couple for "Pinocchio," which aired from November 2014 to January 2015.

"Pinocchio," a romantic drama series about two reporters, gained an international cult following and loyal fan base during its three-month run.
