“It is true that IU is being considered as the heroine of the drama though nothing has been confirmed yet,” a KBS official said on Tuesday.

A few days earlier, Kim’s agency KeyEast Entertainment confirmed that he had been asked to star in the soap and was weighing the proposal.

“Producer,” about the producers of a variety show, is set to begin in April and will be written by Park Ji-eun, a writer of the hit drama “My Love from the Star.” Kim and IU reportedly were offered the roles of a rookie producer and a famous singer, respectively.

If both appear in “Producer,” it will be their first time to work together since four years ago when they starred in the KBS drama “Dream High,” which launched their acting careers.

Since “Dream High,” IU has taken leading roles in a series of dramas including “You’re the Best, Lee Soon-shin” and “Pretty Man.”

Kim also proved his potential as an adult actor in the drama, and has become a sought-after actor since starring in hit dramas and movies including “My Love from the Star,” “Moon Embracing the Sun” and “The Thieves.”

They are said to have remained friends since “Dream High.” Kim was spotted at IU’s concert last July.
