K-pop boy band Super Junior members Shindong and Sungmin will join the Army back-to-back next month, their label SM Entertainment confirmed Tuesday.

Shindong and Sungmin, who are both 29 years old, will enlist in the Army on March 24 and 31, respectively, for their mandatory military service, according to the label.

Shindong will begin his five-week training period with the 28th Army Battalion in Yeoncheon. A week later, Sungmin will begin his with the 17th Army Battalion in Bucheon, before going on duty as a soldier.

In Korea, all able-bodied men aged between 18 and 35 have to serve about two years in the military to deter threats from North Korea.

Shingdong was meant to join the Army at the end of last year, but delayed it due to his health.

Sungmin tied the knot with actress Kim Sa-eun last December.
