SM Entertainment, Korea’s largest entertainment firm, had taken legal action against Luhan and his advertiser in China‘s and Hong Kong’s courts early this month.

The law office said in a statement, “The suits that Luhan and Chris had filed (last year against SM Entertainment) are already in the stage of arbitration. Negotiations took place several times and chiefs of both firms are also set to meet in China. In this situation, SM’s (latest) lawsuit has made us suspect its sincerity,” the firm said.

They also cited SM’s past cases, saying, “As the largest entertainment firm in South Korea, SM Entertainment has been signing unfair exclusive deals (with celebrities) using its superior status. It was given a warning from the nation’s Korea’s Fair Trade Commission in the past.

On SM’s claims that the members left EXO for their own sake, ignoring contracts, faith and ethics without proper grounds, the firm said, “It is just to maliciously slander the celebrities.”
