Actor Lee Min-ho has become one of the leading stars in Korea, receiving great attention in many Asian countries. The actor has gained stardom through his participation in various television drama series.

However, drama fans have different opinions about which of his shows should be considered his best. Out of his dramas, “Boys over Flowers,” “City Hunter,” and “The Heirs” are often mentioned.

The KBS2 drama “Boys over Flowers,” which aired in 2009, is a remake version of popular Japanese drama of same title. Playing the male lead, Gu Jun-pyo, Lee effectively portrayed his character’s playful personality and pure love toward Geum Jan-di, the female lead played by actress Ku Hye-sun.

“Boys over Flowers” is often considered as Lee’s turning point in his acting career. Prior to the “Boys over Flowers,” Lee was not widely known, but his participation in the drama became a stepping stone to his worldwide fame. The drama was also widely successful, with a more-than 30 percent viewer share.

2. “City Hunter”

The SBS drama “City Hunter” broadcasted in 2011 is also one of Lee’s successful dramas. Also starring Park Min-young, the drama gained attention for its fierce action scenes and the romantic chemistry of the two leading actors.

A month after the drama’s end, Park and Lee revealed they were having a real romantic relationship with each other, boosting the popularity of the drama overseas. Even though the two parted ways six months later, fans still enjoyed the couple featured in “City Hunter.” The drama gained a more-than 20 percent viewer share.

3. “The Heirs”

SBS drama “The Heirs” is one of the most popular television series in K-drama history. Broadcast last year, the drama portrayed the extravagant lives of Korean elite families.

Lee played the role of Kim Tan, the heir to the owner of giant conglomerate Jeguk Group, while Park Shin-hye starred as Cha Eun-sang, who suffers from chronic poverty. Despite their contrasting social backgrounds, Lee’s character falls passionately in love with Eun-sang, melting the hearts of both domestic and international fans. The drama notched up a 25.6 percent total viewer share.
