The members of K-pop sensation GOT7 said that they were not boys and not yet men in the run-up to their first TV appearance since their album release.

The boys talked about their feelings, plans and determination ahead of performing on the Mnet music show “M! Countdown.”

“Our lead single ‘Stop Stop It’ is a cool song, but we don’t sing to look cool. We would like to show ourselves as not boys yet not men,” said GOT7 leader JB.

The septet released their first studio album “Identify” and its lead single “Stop Stop It” on Tuesday.

“Stop Stop It,” written and composed by producer JYP, is a hip-hop track with heavy bass and an addictive beat.

They pursue future-oriented style in the music, but wear old school costumes onstage.

“I am not sure, but we will stick to this kind of concept for our upcoming albums,” he added.

Park Jin-young, producer and CEO of their label JYP Entertainment, wrote on his Twitter, “It is important for every singer to find true colors in the third album. I am sure GOT7’s third album will also do its part. It’s the real groove music.”

Regarding the comment, Yugyeom said, “We were delighted to see that he had trust in us, but we still felt the burden to do well.”

The boys, who debuted in January, are still struggling to position themselves in the K-pop scene.

“We debuted less than a year ago, but have already released three albums,” Jr. said.

“We are not sure whether we should remain a rookie band or it is time for us to make a leap,” he added.

Yugyeom also talked about how he wants to brand GOT7. “I want GOT7 to be seen as a talented, consistent band founded upon strong teamwork.”

“We are getting closer over time,” he added.

Asked about the future for GOT7, JB said, “GOT7 are not yet men. But we are getting ready to be real men. We will become men soon.”
The idols are already drawing positive responses about their new album.

“Identify” already topped the iTunes real-time Albums chart in Thailand, and broke into the top 10 on the chart in Hong Kong, the Philippines and Malaysia.

The music video of “Stop Stop it” cleared the million-views mark on Wednesday, only a day after its release.

GOT7 is to make its first TV appearance since the comeback on “M! Countdown” on Thursday. The idol band will perform “Gimme” and “Stop Stop It.”
