Zhou Mi, a Chinese member of the K-pop boy band Super Junior-M, left a message of support on Friday, presumably for EXO’s Luhan, who filed for the termination of his contract with SM Entertainment that day.

“I hope that those who left and those who are staying can do well (wherever they are),” Zhou Mi wrote on his Weibo account.

His comments are interpreted among fans as a move to encourage both Luhan, who departed from EXO, and the artists who remain with the embattled agency.

Earlier in the day, Luhan filed the lawsuit against SM to revoke the exclusive contract.

The exact cause of the lawsuit was not publicly revealed.

But K-pop insiders speculate that the legal action resulted from maltreatment, as was the case with former EXO member Kris. Kris also sued SM on May 15 to nullify his contract, citing exploitation of basic human rights.

After the news went viral, another EXO member, Lay, also backed Luhan’s decision.

“Good bye, brother. I hope we can sing on the same stage again if we have the chance. I support your decision as your brother. Bless you,” Lay posted on his Weibo account.
